At the intersection of art, law, and wellness.
Jacquelin Walker (she/her)
Jacquelin Walker is a lawyer, organizer of arts experiences, yoga instructor, and advocate for equity in the arts and entertainment sectors, dedicating her career to using the power of storytelling to transform American culture. Her mission is to create agency for those marginalized by or completely missing from American media, utilizing her legal, creative, and yoga practices as laboratories to explore the possibilities of centering the care, concerns and visions of artists.
Walker started her career in television production at Turner Studios in Atlanta, GA, moving on to the world of talent representation at the Creative Artists Agency, then to in-house legal at the Harry Walker Agency. In 2016, she launched Fete-Fete Ltd., which produces arts events and experiences which showcase the work of underrepresented visual artists, filmmakers, performers, musicians and culinary artists, providing a platform to reach new audiences and collaborators.
In 2020, she launched the Law Office of Jacquelin Walker, practicing in the areas of Arts and Entertainment, providing commercial services to for profit and nonprofit entities, as well as organizing the Pittsburgh Movement Law Pros Network. Walker’s practice is rooted in an access to justice philosophy and aims to ensure that the 80% of Americans who struggle to access legal support can be connected to lawyers who are ready to provide services. When lawyers are able to be whole people, they can make more effective decisions that serve whole people, families, and communities.
Walker’s yoga practice and instruction focuses on sharing tools that help others create self-awareness with an eye toward individual and collective healing and expansion, centering anti-racist principles, joy, rest, and leisure.
